Without further ado, let’s get into it!
Recap of Abattoir Season 4 — Episode 1
Season 4 picks up from where the previous season stopped. Chief Durosanya’s condition has deteriorated. He lies unconscious in the hospital bed, as all medical intervention proves abortive. Meanwhile, there is a continued wrestle for his soul in the spiritual realm.
Mr. Degbola and his son-Dele join other people to celebrate Baba Gbenro on his birthday. As Baba makes his speech and acknowledges the guests, Martins walks in. Though he carries a heavy burden with him, he buries it under a broad smile as Flora shares her testimony of conversion, marriage, and fruitfulness.
Another scene opens with an air of celebration. Akin (Acted by Lawrence Oyor) is back from the United States and his father (Gbade) throws a party to welcome him home. But Akin would have none of that until his father forcefully drags him downstairs. Meanwhile, Baba Gbenro and his son share a divided opinion on his birthday gift—a car or dying soul?
For Baba Gbenro, Chief Durosanya is a new catch that he must not allow the devil to possess. But, there is a standing rule in the fraternity that Chief belongs: “If a member breaks away, he has no option but to face the consequence, which is death.”
The mystery behind the survival of Martins and his father remains unknown to the cult. Yet, they must find a way to protect the image of the fraternity. With a new plot, the grandmaster tasks the members to hunt their targets down. The cult keeps coming at Chief through coordinated attacks, and Baba Gbenro won’t stop praying, either.
Spiritual Warfare, Gbenro’s wedding & Everything In-Between: Who goes Down?
As Martins shares emotional moments with his lifeless father, the tension continues to brew stronger; Gbade meets his cult friends to scheme a new plan. If Chief Sanya must die, they must aim at Baba Gbenro directly or attack someone close to him and make him vulnerable.
Meanwhile, Baba Gbenro sees what is looming ahead and feels a strong urge to embark on a 40-day fasting and prayer alongside his family. It is the Lord’s instruction, but Gbenro’s wedding is in a few weeks, and he would not agree to that.
On the other end, Gbade’s wife suspects he is a cult member. She overhears his plan to kill Sanya. She is also convinced he sacrifices their only daughter on the demand of the fraternity.
Now that Commando is out of prison, his first assignment is to capture Dele, who is now contesting the post of the Students’ Union President at Excellence University. Nicholas calls Dele’s attention to his spiritual laxity and warns him severally against the looming dangers.
As the drama continues to unfold, Flora receives a revelation about the ongoing warfare. It is that the watchmen are sleeping while the evil forces are rising at Excellence University. She is afraid that casualties might happen more than ever before.
Commando is not sure to carry the weight of his next assignment. The cost is very high— to attain a new dimension of power, he must sleep in a cemetery for 3 nights. But the persuasive effort of Gbade soon drives him back into the ring.
The stake is now higher than before. With the Grandmaster on his feet, and the cult members starving, and the spiritual repression from Baba Gbenro, Flora, and Martins, the battle for souls has taken a new dimension.
